When unified space law was created a new universal chronological system was put into use, it uses old-earth days and years, this was agreed upon by the other races because earth years (although not days) are a fairly typical length in the galaxy.
It uses the designations B.R. (before revision) and A.R. (after revision)
note:112 B.R. is 2439 on the old earth calender
